red bird

Kelsey was my model yesterday near the cotton gin. I wanted a dramatic look and added the element of the red bird to make things interesting. We ended up not being able to get in to the 2nd floor of the building, so we shot outside near a shack. It was awesome. Kelsey wore her prom dress. Here are some of my favorites.

Thursday, my friend Kelsey and I went to this old building in downtown McKinney to shoot pictures. Kelsey’s son, Levi, came along, and he found some really good reading material for his 3 years. Here are some photos that I took. I am developing a roll that I took with my analog camera as well – the camera that I first learned on and now has these beautiful lens abrasions that mark up the film.

an embarkation…of sorts

This begins my blog that will follow my photographic work wherever it may lead me.

Meet Colleen and Chad. They are good friends with a girl I used to work with, and who had previously hired me to photograph her engagement pictures and wedding.

For one of the shots I decided to use this confetti stick a coordinator had given me at a wedding I shot. I have been carrying it around trying to find the right people and the right time to use it. Well this was it and the photos came out like I had hoped. I wanted to have different scenes with Colleen and Chad and really give them a variety of choices with their photos. We went from tall grass overlooking the Dallas skyline to metal doors in downtown. There is a surprising amount of beauty in Dallas that I think you will see through my photos.
